Gary Astorino, LTC - Biography

Gary Astorino LTC Pacific Northwest Tax ServiceAfter graduating from Centennial High in 1977 with a special High School 2 year degree in business, accounting, payroll and as a member of FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America and the German Club, Gary received a two-year scholarship at Mt. Hood Community College where he graduated with an Associate Dergee in Accounting Technology.  He then moved onto attend Portland State University to received a 4-year BS degree in Business Administration and General Management with emphasis on payroll and taxation. 

In 1981, he became Chief Financial Officer for Green Transfer, a Portland based trucking firm.  His responsibilities include general management and administration of the firm's accounting, pension and payroll programs. While managing the affairs of Green Transfer, Gary has continued to pursue a career in taxation.  He was accepted into and attended Portland State's graduate school program towards a degree in the Masters of Taxation Program and completed the first year of the two-year program before it was eliminated.  He also volunteered with the Internal Revenue Service in the early 90's as a VITA representative and as a tax-aide for retirees and low income citizens before beginning to work as a preparer with Pacific Northwest Tax Service in 1994.  He became a Licensed Tax Consultant and Enrolled Agent in 1996.

Outside of his professional life, Gary is known for his love of movies and his extensive collection of science fiction memorabilia.
