Pacific Northwest Tax Service has been offering tax classes since 2001. Our goal is to offer the best training programs available. We continuously work to improve and update our course materials to ensure our students can effectively learn about the subjects we teach. 

We believe tax education courses should provide each student with the knowledge and testing skills needed to a great tax professional and pass the Tax Board's rigorous LTP and LTC exams. 

Our reading classwork and homework assignments walk each student through the theory and application of preparing "real-world" tax returns.   Students enrolled in our 80-Hour Basic Tax Course and our Tax Pro 1040 LTC Prep Series are provided with over 400 quiz questions, mini-problems and detailed answer keys designed to hone test-taking skills needed to pass Board exams.

80-hour Basic Tax Course

Our 80 Hour Basic Tax Course is a vocational school program Licensed by the Department of Education and Approved by the Oregon Board of Tax Service Examiners.  The program is designed to teach students basic tax laws surrounding preparation of individual Federal and Oregon tax returns.  The program is available to individuals who are interested in becoming Oregon Licensed Tax Preparers and Licensed Tax Consultants.  It is also open to individuals who would like to learn to prepare their own tax returns. 

We offer our 80-Hour Basic Tax Course once each year.  Classes begin in early September.  We also offer a home-study Correspondence 80-Hour Course.  Our Correspondence 80-Hour Course is one of the only home-study 80-Hour programs approved by the Oregon Tax Board.

Pacific Northwest Tax Service also offers high-quality Continuing Education Seminars, Online CPE Programs, and Correspondence CPE Programs.  Our continuing education programs provide students with a well-rounded series of courses designed to teach and reinforce understanding of how tax laws are incorporated into the tax return. Many tax professionals find themselves dependent on computer programs that "do the thinking".  Our CPE classes and Correspondence Courses are designed to bring clarity and understanding to tax laws and how they relate to the real world of professional tax preparation.
